Don't Miss the Match

For the final week of the year and the LAST CALL for matching donations, we’re introducing you to Andrea Rosas.

Andrea went through the Leadership Program with Foundation staff before we were The Ambassador Foundation. Her story is one of perseverance and family, with an intelligence and joy to be admired.

Today she’s in her senior year completing degrees in finance and international studies at University of Colorado Denver, with plans to study abroad in Korea in May. Andrea interned last summer doing accounting for the Foundation. She is exploring jobs in the financial world this winter, while simultaneously earning a certificate in basic Korean.

“I will always appreciate having a support system like The Ambassador Foundation.”

As a first generation college student, her education is invaluable to her. Andrea’s parents grew up in Mexico City without the opportunity for school beyond their elementary years. She is grateful for their sacrifice raising her family and determined to keep their dreams alive despite enormous challenge.

“My culture is a big part of who I am. I carry it proudly.” As she nears graduation, she speaks of college being a culture shock, finding herself one of few Hispanics in the business school. Other hurdles include when to communicate. “If you don’t know how to reach out for your own self, you won’t be able to (accomplish and move) forward.”

“I love being a part of The Ambassador Foundation because it allows you to connect with and network with other people. I think that’s a big key if you want to move on through your college trajectory; and they connect you to the correct people. They support you in what you need. I will always appreciate having a support system like them.” As shared on The Voice of Montbello Podcast in November.
