Program Descriptions

Overview of College Advising

We work with students on their college journey. Our students have come from 49 high schools here in Colorado and 41 countries.  We meet students where they are and guide them through each step of the college application process all the way to graduation. We pay special attention to students during Summer Melt, a time when statistically many students drop out. We help them stay in school when appropriate and possible. We support students throughout the years, individually, and in groups through our College Advising Team.
When other services are needed for students in the College Advising Program, we connect them and their families with education groups and schools, social workers, school counselors and advisors, employers, attorneys and other appropriate support people and organizations.
We also hope to work with our students as they volunteer in our program and with other opportunities and with the added goal of employing students who are interested in our work.

Overview Leadership & Scholarship Program I

We offer an intensive month-long college prep program in June for rising high school seniors to prepare them for the fall, by completing most of the application tasks before they start the fall semester of their senior year. We help students research and tour schools, fill out applications, write essays for colleges and scholarships, complete the FAFSA form, review acceptances, secure the best possible financial aid support, write resumes, practice interviewing, make final decisions and successfully enroll, attend, be involved, graduate and find a meaningful career.

Overview of the Leadership & Scholarship Program II

An 11-week program covering a variety of topics including the development of effective leadership skills, public speaking and communication skills, self-advocacy, conflict resolution, and the ability to utilize one’s individual personality traits to be a more effective leader. High school students who fit The Ambassador Foundation criteria and have completed the Summer Program for Seniors are eligible to take part in the Leadership and Scholarship Program (L&S).
Students that successfully complete the program will receive a $3000 scholarship and will be eligible to apply for 1 full-ride needs-based scholarship and 2 $2500 runner-up awards to a Colorado university through The Denver Foundation.

Overview of Peer Network

We provide a space for students to work with one another and become leaders through networking, community bonding and peer support as well as provide students with leadership opportunities and experience.
The focus is on developing a student-run organization and The Ambassador Program staff will provide support and coordination.
